Morningside High School (MHS), Home of Distinguished Scholars and Champions, is a comprehensive high school, where our motto is, "Learning is the Priority." The mission of MHS is to serve, nurture, and educate all students to be empowered and socially conscious individuals, who are critical and analytical thinkers, prepared for career and higher education in a global society. This mission is actualized as a result of the Morningside vision which is," Morningside High School students are productive citizens and life-long learners who are responsible, high-achieving, well-rounded, and technologically prepared for the 21st Century."

Located on a beautiful leafy green campus, Morningside High School is a beautiful setting for students in grades 9-12 to pursue academic goals in a supportive school environment. Morningside High School opened its doors in 1951. The school is in the city of Inglewood. The National Civic League presented Inglewood, known as the City of Champions, with the All-American City Award in 1989 and 2009. Inglewood is a residential and a commercial community located five miles east of Los Angeles International Airport, two miles south of the Forum, and the currently under construction NFL Stadium.

The goal at MHS is for all students to achieve high school graduation with a diploma or a certificate of completion. Many of our students are scheduled in classes that meet the UC A –G academic entrance requirements. Morningside High School has a special agreement with the California State University, Chico. Our students who meet the CSU Admission requirements are guaranteed admission to CSUChico. MHS also partners with nearby El Camino and Los Angeles Southwest Community Colleges. These partnerships provide both Dual and Concurrent Enrollment in college level classes for our students while they are still enrolled in high school. In addition, to a college-going course of study, students are exposed to various Career Technical Educational opportunities.

In addition, Morningside High School has clear academic goals for the entire student body. MHS goal is to develop a school culture in which all students meet the school’s Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLR’s). The MHS ESLR’s was developed in collaboration with partners from industry, post-secondary, the community, as well as students, parents, school staff and administration, and district leadership. Each course and program work to align with the ESLR’s supporting each MHS student in reaching these learning results upon high school graduation:
