A-G Course Requirements

A-G requirements are the minimum admissions requirements you need to complete in order to gain admittance to a CSU or UC as first-time freshmen. You must complete 15 year-long courses with at least a "C" or better.  11 of the courses must be taken prior to the last year of high school.

Taking A-G courses isn't the only way to satisfy these requirements.  You may also complete them by taking college courses or earning scores on various acceptable exams.

HOW TO MAKE UP MISSING COURSES

If you didn't take all the required high school courses or earned D or F grades in some of them, you have several options to make up these courses and qualify for CSU admission.

  • You can complete appropriate high school courses with a grade of C or better either in summer school or in adult school.
  • You can take an online APEX course. (Please see your counselor)
